We are pleased to announce that ARTISAN Display and Packaging can now offer Ultraviolet Coating (UV) on your Corrugated Displays & Value Added Packaging.

Get that superb gloss and unsurpassed print quality that you have been searching for without paying astronomical prices. Our process allows us to print up to 4 colors and apply a UV coating in one operation. UV coating will increase traffic to your Point of Purchase Displays resulting in increased sales of your product.
In addition to HI-GLOSS printing, your Display and/or Package will be more durable. It can be washed down and will have a moisture resistant characteristic.
| What is UV coating and how does it work? |
The UV process begins with a high intensity ultraviolet lamp, which shines UV light into specially formulated liquid ink. Additives in the liquid called photoinitiators absorb the UV energy and begin a chemical reaction that almost instantly converts the liquid into a solid, cured film. The solidification usually occurs within a fraction of a second.
| Is UV Environmentally friendly? |
Yes! UV curing involves 100% solids, meaning the amount of liquid applied before the curing process is the same amount after the process. There are no solvents or VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) released into the atmosphere. There was an independent study to compare the recyclability of UV coatings with waterborne and catalytic technologies. This is known as the Beloit Study. This study found that all of the various UV samples tested are easily repulpable. UV products are currently being recycled and are biodegradable.
